AI has changed things! Not in the details, but in scale!

The ruling Moderate Party recently pointed to a survey based on data collected by [Dagens Industri(https://www.di.se/) and Företagarna. They claim that more than half of Swedish companies, big and small, support them in the coming election. They also mocked the left and social democratic bloc, saying: “You have no plan for these groups, that’s why less than 30% of people support you!”
This is a real example of how AI is changing the game. If someone had made this claim four years ago (and similar claims surely were made), regular people would have had no easy way to check it. They would have had to rely only on the formal news channels, and that was slow and frustrating for most people to bother with. But today, you can just show a picture of the survey to an AI model and ask a few good prompts, and you can check the facts yourself!

For example, here’s a simple but important question: under what conditions was this survey done? Both of these organizations lean toward the right-wing block in Sweden. So even if the survey itself was done fairly, these groups likely have more contact with small and medium businesses that already support the right block. In the past, it was easy to use this kind of hidden bias to attack political rivals during a campaign. But now, thanks to AI models that make searching and checking data easy for everyone, this trick doesn’t work as smoothly anymore. Although AI models can make mistakes, this time they’ve given ordinary citizens real confidence to quickly fact-check political claims on a national scale, without wasting time or patience.
Even if we accept that the survey itself is genuine, there are other, stronger arguments to make. For example: to the ruling block, one could say during your four years in power, unemployment rate hasn’t gotten better. It’s actually gotten worse (about 100,000 more people unemployed compared to the last election). So the growth you claim your supporter businesses have had cannot be applied to all businesses. Unemployment is a general problem that no one can twist in their own favor. People usually care first about their own daily lives, and for them, having a job matters much more than economic growth or the tastes of small and medium businesses. This same feeling that the current government did nothing for jobs is also what brought down the previous government too. You are no exception either!
